Gov’t To Take Over Kabale University

Mbabazi, however, warned that the initial resources from government would be inadequate, calling for the university to be affiliated to other already established ones before evolving into a fully fledged public university.

He was chief guest at the General Meeting of the Assembly of Promoters at the university campus in Kabale Municipality on Saturday.

Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, the Minister of Information and Communications Technology, who chairs the Assembly, moderated the meeting.

The development comes amidst concerns that government has failed to effectively fund the operations of public education institutions especially Makerere University.
