Uganda Welcomes Election Of Somalia Speaker

James Mugume on Thursday hailed Somalia’s new Federal Parliament for its historic achievement that was carried out in a transparent, try free and fair manner.

Ambassador Mugume said Uganda fully respects the will of the people of Somalia and therefore considers this election of the Speaker as an important and adorable milestone towards the achievement of sustainable peace and stability in Somalia.

“Uganda Commends the Somali leaders particularly the Traditional Elders, Members of the Technical Selection Committee and the Interim Speaker, Hon. Mussa Hassan Abdulle for their education and commitment towards the accomplishment of their Transition process,” said Mugume.

He also said that Uganda believes that Somali people have the primary responsibility of solving their problems with the region and the wider international community providing the necessary support.

He continued to say that Uganda believes that this achievement will be built on to achieve comprehensive and enduring peace, stability and development in Somalia.

“Uganda will work with the people of Somalia to ensure that there is peace, stability in the country and the region,” said Mugume.
