4:21PM: Details emerging now indicate that Nsereko was reportedly mobilizing goons to attack Crane Bank.

Kampala Metropolitan Police boss Andrew Kaweesi has told Chimp Corps at CPS that Nsereko had alerted thugs in Kisseka market to storm the financial institution which he accused of conniving with political rivals to bring him down.

In the meantime, Nsereko is being interrogated by Charles Kataratambi, the head of Crime Intelligence and Operations at CPS.

3:30PM: Kampala Central MP Hon. Mohammed Nsereko has been arrested and detained at Kampala Central Police Station after hours of trailing by undercover police agents.

Nsereko was seized at around 2:45pm on Thursday as he tried to hide in a shop along Luwum Street.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi says he is crosschecking with his superiors to establish why the controversial legislator has been arrested.

Nsereko had earlier been spotted addressing Kampala taxi drivers in the old taxi park.

Detectives have told Chimpreports that Nsereko was held for “attempting to incite violence” with the view to politicize a case in which he is being investigated for a suspected fraud case at Crane Bank.

Journalists have camped at CPS to take pictures of the embattled MP.
