The demonstration comes hardly a month when three UPDF choppers crashed in Mt. Kenya on their way to Somalia, killing 7 soldiers.

Ugandan troops have in the past been credited by the international community for liberating the better part of Somalia from Al Shabaab terrorists.

UPDF-led Amisom troops recently kicked the insurgents from the Capital Mogadishu and captured other strategic towns such as Afgoye.

Police deputy police publicist Emilian Kayima says police communicated to Luyiga’s group that the planned assembly was illegal.

“We wrote them that we were not ready to sanction the demonstration,” Kayima told on Monday morning.

“So we don’t expect them to march to Constitutional Square. That will be illegal. If they do, we shall handle them accordingly,” he warned.
