illness geneva;”>Deputy police spokesperson Emilian Kayima says preliminary investigations point to a failed robbery scheme.
A one Rashid Kyakamara arrived at his residential block at around 9:30pm. He, however, spotted a stranger hiding behind the house.
Fearing for his life, a terrified Kyakamara, 33, swiftly screamed for help. The gunman, says Kayima, pulled out his pistol and aimed at Kyakamara but missed.
The deadly shots smashed an adjacent building before rattling the neighbourhood. Kyakamara had taken off in a desperate bid to save his life.
Having failed to silence Kyakamara, the unidentified gunman sped off.
Kayima says crime experts have today morning visited the crime scene to find clues that could to the arrest of the gunman.
“I urge every Uganda to always keep an eye on their neighbourhood and make timely responses by alerting police. This is what we call neighbourhood watch. These criminals will be defeated,” says Kayima.
The incident also raises concerns about the safety of Kyalumunye estate.
