UPDF Officers Decorated, More Troops Sent To Somalia

Col. Julius Chihandae, a high-level diplomat to United Arab Emirates (UAE), who was elevated to the rank of Brigadier, was also decorated alongside Gen. Moses Ali.

Gen. Aronda called for more hard work among promoted officers to consolidate the peace in the country with the view to facilitate prosperity.

At the same function, UPDF flagged off 28 army officers to Somalia to strengthen the war town country’s air force.

Uganda Air Force commander Gen. Jim Oweyesigire encouraged the officers to maintain the highest level of discipline and defend the country from Al Shabaab extremists.

Two more helicopters were as well sent to Somalia to beef up AMISOM operations against Al Qaeda-linked extremists.
