On July 27 at approximately 6:00am a group of 15 suspected Rwenzururu tribal agitators attacked the post with one automatic rifle and an assortment of spears, machetes, knives and shields.
They killed an officer on duty and injured others before stealing two assault rifles.
Senior police officers commended the actions of area local leaders who identified the suspect and immediately reported the matter to police.

The families of the injured officers are being taken care of by the office of the Inspector General of Police.
Meanwhile, investigators are following new leads from other sources connected to suspects in the Kasese attack.
