The Boston concert featured his son Spurgeon Wamala and daughter Fiona Wamala Mukasa whose performance of their late father’s crowd favorite songs like ’Kaama Katono, Nkole Mpakase, Sacramento, Nga Bwekolanga, Ebinyumu Ebyaffe, Boda Boda and Viola drew revelers to the dance floor.’

Fiona Mukasa who flew in from the UK was grateful to the Bostonians for loving her Dad’s music and did assure the audience that their father’s music still lives on through Elly Wamala’s offspring and the various records/CDs he produced.

Elly Wamala was a recipient of numerous accolades including a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to Ugandan music through the years.

The tribute concert was the first memorial held in honor of this late Ugandan musical icon outside Uganda.
