Mashengyero passed away at around 11:30pm on Saturday when a car she was traveling in collided with a Kampala-bound lorry in Bwebajja along Entebbe Road.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi says Mashengyero was heading to Entebbe before the head-on collision with the lorry.
She died on spot.
“The body is at Mulago Referral Hospital,” said Ssenkumbi.
Ssenkumbi says police is yet to hold suspects since “the entire lorry occupants took off after the horrific incident.”
Police is investigating the cause of the accident.
The car was shattered beyond repair. Mashengero’s flesh was strewn everywhere as blood flowed endlessly on the tarmac.
This is the latest fatal accident involving a high profile person along Entebbe Road in less than two months.
On June 18, a police patrol car registration number UP 1295, with five police personnel and one unidentified suspect who was being rescued from the mob justice on board, had a head on collision with a tipper lorry number UAM 897Q.
The accident killed three policemen – Moses Daroki, CPL Geoffrey Bogere who was the commander, PC Julius Balazewa and the unidentified victim of the mob justice on spot.
In 2010, Thembo was quoted by a newspaper as saying: “I have been happily married to Prisca Mashengero Thembo for the last 18 years. I don’t usually count children because of the many we look after. However, we are blessed with six children of our own.”
