Security Tightened As Kabaka Celebrates 19th Coronation Anniversary

Excited youth groups including Nkobazambogo, BANGAWA, CBS Fans club, Buganda Youth Council among others spent the better part of Thursday night dancing and cleaning streets ahead of Kabaka’s visit.

Early this week, effigies were erected, giving Lunyo palace that belonged to Kabaka Kato Buganda in Entebbe a new face lift.

The youth also renovated Entebbe za Mugula cultural site and put in place a monument in the Kabaka’s honour at Aero beach.

The Chairman organizing Committee who is also the Minister for Education and Sports in Buganda Kingdom, Dr. Fred Masagazi Masaazi was quoted by sections of the media as saying the Kabaka will arrive at Katabi sub-county headquarters at 10:00am where he will plant a tree accompanied by the Katikkiro Eng J.B. Walusimbi, Ssebwana the Saza chief, the Chairman organizing committee and Members of Parliament.

While in Entebbe, Kabaka will commission a solar plant at Entebbe Hospital for the maternity ward before launching a tree planting campaign along Nakiwogo- Kiwafu Road leading to the water way where MV Kalangala docks.

He will later visit lunnyo palace and Entebbe za Mugula cultural site where Entebbe derived its current name before joining Muslims for Juma prayers at Entebbe Masjid Taqwa.

He will proceed to Aero beach to unveil his much revered monument, launch the coronation book and address his subjects.

Friday’s activities will be crowned by a boat race at Aero beach 2:00pm.
