no rx geneva;”>Kasirye, site a pupil of Kayugi Primary School in Mukungwe sub-county in Masaka district was killed on October 27, 2008.

The ruling excited hundreds of people who had thronged the court premises since morning waiting to hear the verdict in this case.

The Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) challenged the High Court decision to acquit Kajubi a few years ago.

Kajubi was subsequently arrested and returned to Masaka to face charges of murder.

The judge said while the witchdoctor, Umar Katerega, who sacrificed the boy, peddled some lies in his testimony, there was enough evidence to pin Kajubi in the murder.

Chibita cited the last call from Kajubi’s phone to Katerega shortly before the murder, saying this was enough evidence to connect the tycoon to the gruesome incident.

Shortly after the ruling, Kajubi broke down in tears, begging for mercy.

He was led away by Prison authorities to Luzira Maximum Prison where he will spend the rest of his life.

The ruling is a big step forward in the fight against ritual sacrifices in the country and healing wounds inflicted by the murder of Kasirye.
