Led by Jose Chameleone, the artistes also accuse government of refusing to stay a proposed tax on their music concerts and properties.

They are arguing that for government to introduce a new tax on their benefits, it should first strengthen and enforce the copyright law in the country.

As we write this, the artistes, who include Judith Babirye, Bobi Wine and Ragga Dee, are holed up at the Royal Theatre in Old Kampala where they are planning for the demonstration. The meeting is being chaired by Wasulwa of Afrigo Band.

Bebe Cool is expected shortly.

The musicians have been joined by filmmakers.

This is the second time they are threatening to strike in a space of just two weeks.

More information shows that National Theatre adminstration has bowed to pressure from some quarters not to host the musicians’ rally thus going for Royal Theatre.
