Traffic Police in Mbarara yesterday impounded 5 buses on Mbarara-Masaka road for refusing to register for computerized route charts.
The regional Police spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi said an operation was conducted last evening and 5 buses belonging to Kalita, stomach http://cstaab.com/wp-admin/includes/ms-admin-filters.php Trinity, Kisizi and 2 Post buses were rounded up on grounds of declining to follow route charts.
“A shift provision of route chart which initially these buses were operating expired on 20th December 2016; some got new computerized route charts but some of these buses declined and 5 were impounded yesterday on Mbarara-Masaka road” Ssenkumbi said
Ibin said that 3 of the impounded buses were sent to the transport licensing board in Kampala in conjunction with the ministry of transport and works to be cleared while 2 Post buses are still held at Mbarara police station pending clearance.
The impounded buses had passengers but police helped them get on other buses to their destinations.
Ssenkumbi urged all buses owners to clear with the transport licensing board to have route chart which guarantees them to know the point of operation.
