Police Warn Ugandans On Acid Attacks

case geneva;”>Last Friday, malady Wakiso police arrested a one Enock Kizito, after pouring acid on his wife Mary Nansubuga, leaving her with terrible injuries on her face.

This happened at Katangondde village in Wakiso sub-county.

According to the victims’ children, their father came home at 2am with a bottle containing some liquid and there after they heard their mother screaming for help.

They found their mother lying helplessly on the floor, whimpering in excruciating pain.

She was rushed to the nearby hospital.

Kizito was subsequently arrested from a neighbouring town, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Ibin Ssenkumbi.

“There is a steady rise in crimes related to misuse of acid. Ugandans are warned against such acts that can attract charges of attempted murder,” cautioned Ssenkumbi.

In relation to the above, another man Richard Munyira was on Monday arrested and taken to Kireka police station after hiring a thug ( not identified ) to pour acid at Florence Naziwa, a resident of Kampala.

“Both suspects will be charged with causing bodily harm and attempted murder,” said Ssenkumbi.
