Comedian Patrick Idring alias Salvador spiced up the event with rib-cracking jokes as the contest, which kicked off at 7:00pm, dragged on towards 1:00am.

‘Gold Digger’ star Jackie Chandiru, despite storming the stage late, thrilled the crowd with her smooth voice as she sang the National Anthem.

The Saba Percussion dance group added the much-needed flavor to the occasion with hilarious dance strokes.

Shortly after singing the national anthem, emcees Isaac Rucci and Serrainne Nyamori introduced the judges.

They included PR guru Judith Owembabazi, Crystal Kavulu (reigning ‘Mrs Uganda’), Rose Kabaireho, Blanche Majoro, and tennis king Cedric Babu.

In the top 5 came Josephine Nabakooza, Agatha Tuhimbise, Rachel Kirabo, Maureen Atulinda and Phiona Bizzu.

To break the tension that had gripped the house, Bizzu was named winner of the contest with Josephine Nabakooza as the 1st runner-up and Agatha Tuhimbise – 2nd runner-up.

Earlier, some contestants scooped the special categories’ awards.

Maureen Atulinda was named Sports queen while the popularity category was taken by Effe Nalumansi and Nina Mirembe went home as the best in beach wear.

Others included Sophie Amayo (Photogenic), Apolot (Talent) and Monica Namukaya (Congeniality).
