He noted that the federation had sent referees for the encounter but after Isonga didn’t show up called off the match.
He pointed out that there is no substantial reason for a replay as there was no correspondence from FERWAFA stating that the match would be postponed.
“We did not receive any communication whatsoever from FERWAFA regarding the match,” Superintendent Kayiranga said.
Meanwhile there has been no official communiqué regarding the issue from FERWAFA. However, it is believed that a technical committee has been put together to look into the matter.
“We believe that the technical committee as well as FERRWAFA will come to a conclusion based on facts and within the legalities of the regulations governing football in Rwanda,” Kayiranga noted.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) John Bosco Kabera noted that Police has no case to answer and instead urged those in error to own up their mistakes.
“We will do what it takes to ensure that Police FC rights are respected,” ACP Kabera said.
