South Western regional police spokesperson Polly Namaye was not readily available for comment.

However, FDC coordinator Moses Byamugisha says hundreds have so far turned up for the rally at Kyamate grounds in Ntungamo district.

He adds the Ntungamo DPC attended the rally where he photographed boda boda riders at the function. He was later chased by an enraged group of youth.

A4C leader Mathias Mpuuga told press yesterday in Kampala that police would not intimidate them or frustrate their efforts in seeking regime change.

Opposition supporters have since January been engaged in running battles with police thus leaving dozens injured and property worth millions of shillings destroyed.

A4C leaders say they are invoking people’s power to protest corruption, despotism and abuse of office by the NRM party.
