“Unlike in the past, Agaba did not inform police on time. He just called our officers saying he was on his way to demolish buildings in Luzira. We don’t even know where he got the Kiboko squad from,” Kaweesi said.
He further stated killer cop Santos Komakech who pulled the trigger that left two dead and others injured, will face murder charges. One of the dead has been identified as John Onyango.
He said Komakech will also answer charges of illegal arms possession.
“What was he (Komakech) doing in that area? Where did he get a sub-machine gun and pistol? He did not identify himself as a cop yet he was dressed in civilian clothes. That’s not allowed,” Kaweesi said.
He said the suspects were still detained at Jinja Road police Station.
In a related development, KCCA boss Jennifer Musisi has said they are internally consulting on the administrative action against Agaba.
She regretted the incident and promised to foot the burial arrangement bills for the bereaved family.
The injured include Hakim Karumba, Flolence Nalwadda, Twaili Kalibatala and Denis Agaba.
She however said eviction of illegal structures will continue.
