Asiimwe’s fingers had been fatally injured. He was at first rushed to the kids’ intensive care unit (Luke Ward) at Mengo Hospital before being referred to Mulago Referral Hospital.
The mastermind of the attack is still unknown.
Old Kampala OC/CID Prossie Namukasa says the kids found the explosive in their compound last night thus playing with it. It blew off today.
The blast comes on the heels of police announcements that terrorists are planning to bomb Uganda.
This is the first explosive to go off in Kampala after the 2009 bomb attacks on Kyadondo and Ethiopian Village Restaurant.
