illness http://colombiareports.com/wp-includes/bookmark-template.php geneva;”>The development confirms Kayanja as Uganda’s richest pastor. He will be the first church leader in Uganda to own a private jet.
Kayanja told a huge gathering in Kampala on December 31 he urgently needed a jet.
Kayanja said a private jet would facilitate his swift movement to upcountry areas to preach the word of God.
“We need money to support the jet project. I encourage you to raise money so we can have this jet as soon as possible,” Kayanja said.
He further revealed Uganda roads were increasingly becoming insecure, citing an accident that killed two European Evangelists along Jinja Road in October last year.
US born-again gospel preachers Dr. Reoz Godzck and Leon Both, attached to a prominent church in Arizona, United States, lost their lives in a head-on collision with an over-speeding truck as they drove to Kampala.
Informed sources at Miracle Centre say Kayanja has already ordered for a jet in the United States and all payments have been effected.
Kayanja is now fundraising for cash to maintain the ‘bird of God’ which is expected to fly in before Easter.
“The jet is coming in any time from now. All we need are funds to maintain it,” one of Kayanja’s aides confided in us on condition of anonymity as he is not authorised to speak to press.
The source says the better part of the bill was been footed by renowned international US preacher Pastor Benn Hinn.
The two pastors’ colourful relationship has in the past been an issue of concern for tabloids.
You will recall Benn, one of the wealthiest pastors in the world, made a historic Shs2.5b trip to Uganda in May 2007.
The two pastors have been friends for quite a long time.
Kayanja is now fundraising to meet associated costs which include insurance, fuel, catering and pilots.
Aircraft management companies take care of these for about Shs250m per annum depending on the size and usage of the jet.
Kayanja’s jet, according to an insider, can carry eight passengers and fly 2,000 miles.
The news is likely to trigger debate on the Pastor’s luxurious lifestyle as his flock wallow in hard-hitting poverty.
