Ssenkumbi says Singh’s houseboy Simon Kasiba alerted Kiira Road police shortly after the death.

He says police later discovered Singh had succumbed to internal blood clotting.

Ssenkumbi notes a one Juliet Kyesiimire, 17, a resident of Maya Zone Kabalagala, Makindye division was electrocuted on January 1. She is believed to have touched a loose electric wire on her neighbour’s kitchen thus dying instantly. Her body was taken to Mulago for post-mortem.

According to Ssenkumbi, an unidentified thief had his right arm cut off by a security guard Yusuf Wantega as the thug attempted to raid Zam Zam shop along Rubaga Road in Old Kampala on December 31.

He died on his way to Mulago Referral Hospital due to over bleeding. The shop belongs to Edrisa Malagala.

Ssenkumbi adds a family of three was on the same day found slaughtered by unknown assailants in Kimbo Village, Wakiso district.

The victims are Pius Mpuuga, 43, his wife Elizabeth Nakabuye and their daughter Diana Nabayinga.

A blood stained machete was found at the scene of crime.

He says police is yet to hold suspects over the horrific murder.

Ssenkumbi says there was another mysterious murder reported in Wakiso district on December 31.

The police publicist says a cop in Ndejje, Entebbe shot two people in the area for illegally burning tyres in the middle of the roads during the New Year celebrations.

The victims, who are now being hospitalised at Mulago, are Emmanuel Katerega and Evelyne Amuge.

The cop dropped the killer gun at Ndejje Police Station before fleeing.

The murders underline the growing insecurity in the central region.

Despite huge police deployment, iron-bar hit-men killed civilians and terrorised the region during the festive season.

A one Amuza was killed with an iron-bar in Ndeeba, a Kampala suburb on December 26.

Ssenkumbi, however, says police is investigating the incidents with the view of bringing the culprits to justice.
