In his New Year message, President Yoweri Museveni said:

“Let the year 2012 be the year of peace, hard work, accountability and efficient service with integrity. Government is committed to concretizing the measures already in place to ensure the prosperity of all Ugandans.”

He added: “We must aim at being a country of producers rather than of consumers. I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year 2012.”
