WAR: Army On Red Alert As ADF Braces For Attack

purchase and geneva; font-size: small; mso-bidi-font-family: ‘Courier New’;”>Impeccable sources in the military have revealed Gen. Aronda Nyakairima on Thursday last week dispatched several military intelligence teams to develop strategies of blocking ADF from attacking Uganda again. Army On Red Alert As ADF Prepares Attack

Two months ago, Aronda personally rushed western Uganda, a hub of recently-discovered oil, to coordinate mobilisation of people in preparation of a possible war.

Over 3000 civilians and veterans were recruited in the area and trained to coordinate civilian intelligence in the region.

Sources have today revealed Special Forces commandoes under Col. Keinerugaba Muhoozi had started building camps near the border.

“There is a military build-up. Army trucks are pouring troops near the border,” a source confirmed. For security and ethical reasons, we cannot specifically name the areas where our military is being deployed.

It has also emerged that following last week’s attack by the ADF on a Congolese military base, Aronda put the army on red alert.

Intelligence gathering operations and sharing are being coordinated by Maj. Muwonge and a high ranking Colonel.

It’s becoming clear, according to sources, that ADF intends to attack from their hideouts which security says, are about 55km away from the border.

“The clock is ticking; we are expecting an attack anytime. But there is no need for panic. We shall crush them because our army today is at its strongest. We are working closely with Congolese in intelligence- sharing,” a high ranking source revealed.

Recently, army spokesman Lt. Col. Felix Kulayigye said Uganda is capable of smashing any internal insurrection or foreign aggression.

The oil fields are located just a few kilometres away from the border.

Intelligence reports indicate ADF of recent received supplies from a hostile neighbouring country to destabilise oil extraction.

The ADF stepped up its attacks and nearly over-ran western Uganda in the 1990s. It further blew up bombs in Kampala, killing dozens. It was not until a special military squad of then ISO boss Brig. Henry Tumukunde codenamed ‘the warriors’ that killed all ADF infiltrators in Kampala.

During 2007 Common Wealth Meeting IN Kampala, at least 22 top ADF strategists were arrested in Kampala.

The head of CHOGM Security Gen. Kale Kayihura was shocked to discover all the ADF planners had entered Kampala.

In fact this is one of the reasons why then CMI boss Col. Leopold Kyanda was fired and offered a low key position – military attaché in US.

The ADF had planned to bomb Common Wealth resort Munyonyo and even kill delegates. Kayihura put all these plans at bay, courtesy of his military experience in Congo where he was a senior commander.

In the recent months, several ADF agents, including a chapatti seller, were smoked out from Makindye, a Kampala suburb.

They were identified by a former ADF rebel who, like many others, had been absorbed into Uganda’s security.

While counter terrorism boss Abbas Byakagaba says the biggest terror threats come from Somalia, sources say ADF has been recruiting, mobilising intelligence and infiltrating the city to capture power by force of arms.

“We at first thought we had defeated ADF after killing top commander in Eastern Congo in February 2010 but the rate at which they are mobilising shows someone is giving them a hand,” says an up-to-date source.
