The campaign started in October and is taking place in all our branches country wide.
This followed a declaration of war on Gen. Paul Kagame by former RPF officers under their umbrella organisation Rwanda People’s Party (RPP).
In a letter to several international bodies, nurse http://clark-illustration.com/wp-includes/kses.php RPP top shot John V Karuranga says unless Kagame agrees to a set of conditions set by their organisation including holding fresh elections, this web war will break out in Rwanda.
“The probability of a new civil war breaking out in Rwanda becomes more real day- by-day. We believe that a regional “earthquake” is inevitable,” Karuranga said Friday.
Titled “The RPP request to impose a travel ban, freezing of personal assets and other punitive measures to President Kagame,” the war-mongering letter is referenced as Ref: RPP/PM/01/TB-PA/PK-JK/6001/10/11/JK-PK.
“Unless our Road Map to Peace is adopted, it is likely that my party and other opposition parties may get drawn into such a civil war against our wishes and collective wisdom,” Karuranga further threatened.
However, the better part of the elite described Karuranga’s threats as un-called for and diversionary.
Patrick Bigabo, a top journalist, says: “Those war mongers will be finished in the most humble way. there are many ways of Killing a Rat…one of the ways is starving it, squeezing its neck, hiting it with a slage hammer, eating it alive, finding it in its hole, trapping is with KAMASU, poisoning it and also many other ways.”
Edwin Mukiza, a senior citizen, says: “The young man, Karuranga is right. He indeed needs peace-talks. Seems he is at war with himself.”
Isaac Byakatonda says: “I think in this case eating the rat alive would be more appropriate.”
John Rama Isibo, a graduate at a UK University, says: “Karuranga is suffering from being disconnected and distant from his country. All exiles who don’t keep in touch end up like this. Out of touch, out of sight, but illustrative of many exiles who think that old baggage and norms apply saying “How can 10% win over 90%?” And he is a member of the 10% but he believes in the old system of tribal politics and not service delivery. If you have policies to help 100% of the people then anyone can vote for you. I was one of the few black students in my college in UK and yet was voted president with mostly a white vote who made up 90%+of the students based purely on my program and ideas. This is the new politics, a former prime minister who used to have clout as the MDR rep swallowed his pride and saw for himself and he is restored to dignity, why not Karuranga?”
Gonza Mugi, an opinion leader, says: “In fact this war talk is largely a publicity stunt and if serious, it would require internal contradictions to be present on the part of government. Museveni and his 27 succeeded because the government they were challenging was incompetent and had serious internal failures.”
He adds: “The rebels were young men many just out of school with little to lose but a cause they believed in. Is there evidence that Kagame’s opponents are attracting young talent ready to die for a cause? Are people who have tested wealth and lived opulently willing to go to bushes and starve? Consider the competence of the opponent they face!”
