“It may not be a big deal to snub the flag-off ceremony but it is a sign of disrespect to the local federation hence punitive action for what they did must take place to stop it from happening again,” explained one of the secretariat members of FMU.

This will not be the first time for Duncan to receive a penalty. He had been suspended by the former FMU President George Kagimu for indiscipline cases; together with John Burrows Lumu and Nasser Mutebi for six years.

However, Shafick Ssemujju has denied any intentional snubbing of the ceremony saying, “I didn’t attend but for sure I have an explanation why I missed but it doesn’t mean I don’t respect the federation anyways, I am ready to face the federation and explain.”

Of the three only Haji Abdul Ssempebwa crossed the finish line after the two (Duncan and Shafick) retiring earlier in the rally in Tanzania.
