It is alleged that the shocking incident occurred at around 3:00 AM when thugs broke into the residence of Buyinza’s sister after digging a hole through the wall.

At the time of the attack, Buyinza was home with her sister whereas the victim’s brother-in-law; Aggrey Mpubanyi was away in Iganga.

At the burial, Mpubanyi narrated that when the goons attacked; they headed to Buyinza’s sister’s room, tied her up and sexually molested her.

“After the goons took off, the deceased untied her sister and with envy and anger, she rushed through the hole used by the goons as exit and this is where their neighbor’s security guard shot her twice in the chest thinking she was among the thugs,” Mpubanyi added.

The army officer’s guard was responding to an alarm made after the incident.

“Unfortunately, by the time the security officer came out, the thugs had disappeared under the cover of darkness. Buyinza who had followed them was accidentally killed,” said Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango.

Onyango said the guard apologized to the family of the deceased. She was laid to rest on Sunday in Nabbingo.
