“The men should be humble and take care of their wives”, he counselled.

The President was speaking last evening during the wedding reception of Mr. Kenneth Baija, a member of staff of State House, who married Sarah Nduhukire who is an employee of Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA).

The groom is also a son of the late Dr. Gershom and Mrs. Jennifer Baija of Kashaari, Mbarara District while the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Turyamureeba who hail from Obwengaara in Kazo County, Kiruhuura district.

Mr. Museveni thanked Mrs. Jennifer Baija, mother of the groom, for being a good Movement supporter and described her as a committed worker.

He commended her for the exemplary performance especially from the time of her husband’s death when she has ably demonstrated her capacity to look after her children as well as being firm and committed to taking her own life and that of children seriously.

He was pleased to note that by shunning unhelpful short-term worldly affairs, she was able to build a home and establish a farm which was progressing well.

He donated some cows to the bride and congratulated the entire family for the wedding ceremony.

The groom, Mr. Kenneth Baija, saluted President Museveni for blessing their wedding ceremony and for the opportunity of employment. He thanked God for the wedding ceremony and expressed his gratefulness to the staff of State House for guiding him well in the execution of his office responsibilities.

On her part, the bride, Mrs. Sarah Baija, pledged unswerving commitment to managing her family well under the guidance of God.

The groom’s mother, Mrs. Jennifer Baija, thanked the President for assisting her children to confidently grapple with the challenges of life. She called on the new couple to respect each other as a prerequisite for a happy relationship.
