Pastor Kyazze who has done this two other times said mass weddings are aimed at discouraging people from co-habiting.
It is also done to help the couples that cannot afford private weddings. He said more couples should go and register since it is free of charge.
At the wedding, the people’s favourite couple was an elderly one of an 80-year-old man called Kayizi Tony and his 63-year-old wife Grace Nabukera. The couple has five grown children together.

“We are so excited to have purified our union. We have been cohabiting for 30 years and had always yearned for a church wedding but could not afford one. Thank God we finally got our dream of holy matrimony,” Kayizi said.
