“We suspect the thief used a long stick to steal Maitum’s clothes. That’s the only property that was lost two days ago at the Obote family residence,” Onyango told Chimpreports on Tuesday.

He also rubbished as “untrue” reports that Miria Obote had been physically assaulted by the thugs.

Onyango advised the complainant to officially apply for VIP protection if the family feels a security threat.

Miria has been living in the leafy Kampala suburb ever since she returned to Uganda in 2006.

President Museveni at one time visited her at the Kololo home where they engaged in a long conversation.
