The life saving mechanism that is globally appreciated is designed to instantly sense the location of a journalist at risk and immediately disseminate the location information to the preset 3 persons of the journalist’s choice in less than 30 seconds.

Robert Ssempala, HRNJ National Coordinator, says the association has started mobilizing resources to acquire the mobile application so that before the year ends, all interested journalists have acquired it.

Ssempala says the association is mainly focusing on political journalists who have, on several occasions fallen victim of Police and other society brutalities while helplessly isolated from potential help.

Ssempala adds that they are currently engaging journalists to prioritize ‘own-life’ protection procedures especially in the forth coming 2016 General elections.
