According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, Sanya was arrested after he had come to collect the balance of UShs600, 000 from Ssembatya to have the deal finalized.
“But on being suspicious of the suspected conman’s conduct, Ssembatya alerted police who were in a distance as he was handing over the balance to the conman,” elaborated Onyango.
The suspect was swiftly arrested.
Onyango said Sanya faces charges of obtaining money by false pretence and impersonation.
He, however, cautioned the public to be watchful amid increased cases of fraud.
