The 2017 Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) has started with the arrival of over 100 foreign exhibitors, drug http://center4research.org/wp-admin/includes/export.php travel trade, media practitioners from over 25 countries. 10 tourism boards, five ministers, airlines, hotels, tour and travel companies, insurers.
The expo is majorly focusing on raising the profile of the country more as an ideal destination both domestically and regionally.
While speaking to ChimpReports on the event, Steven Asiimwe the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Tourism Board said that POATE is a great opportunity for Ugandans to showcase the best that the country has to offer.
“We have the best wildlife, scenic beauty, rich culture heritage, historical sites, food, great entertainment and above all top security”.
POATE’s core focus for 2017 is to showcase new products and create common platforms for key business to business relationships and networks that can be used to elevate the growing tourism industry.
The activities for the expo are divided into two groups with some starting from Kibale Forest National Park and others in Kidepo National Park. Guests will be taken for among others Chimpanzee tracking, Game drives, boat cruises, and will climax with an exhibition from 17th to 19th February at the Sheraton gardens (Jubilee park).
