2016 Stanbic Bank Golf Day Ends Successfully

The Stanbic Bank golf championship, an annual one day event was held on Friday at the par 72 Kitante golf course in Kampala with several golfers competing both in the men and ladies categories.

The tournament teed off at exactly 7:25 am at hole 10 and thereafter a number of other golfers hit the course for the first session in the morning and then the second session at noon.

Uganda golf club’s Dennis Anguyo emerged the winner in the professional category with a return of 210 gross in three days. The lanky golfer was rewarded with Uganda shillings 15M from Stanbic Bank.

Becca Mwanja scooped the overall prize in the men’s category with 41 points while Nasimolo Jenninah emerged the overall winner in the women’s category also having 41 points.

The hole in one challenge (hitting the ball from the tee cup to the straight to the hole) was won by Jamie Byaruhanga.

Head of Corporate and Investiment Banking, Mr. Edrine Muchai who represented Stanbic Bank’s CEO Patrick Mweheire thanked Uganda golf union and the people who took part in the tournament.

“I thank Uganda golf Union for giving us the course and always working with us whenever we have an event. We promise the tournament will continue to grow bigger and better,” he said.
