2015 Watoto Wasoka Xmas Camp Ready to Roll

President Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni spared time during the festive season to attend to their cattle.

Museveni describes himself as a farmer.

“Agriculture will boost the economy of our country and improve household income. I wish you happy holidays.”

The President recently said despite being one of the least paid Presidents in Africa, sick he was a rich man because of what he earns from Agriculture.

Museveni is considered one of the largest cattle keepers and traders in the country.

“Your President is one of the least paid on the continent. Although I earn little from your government, I’m a rich man from agriculture. When I tell you that commercial agriculture is wealth, am telling you what I know,” he said in July this year.

The President was referring to a report by the Africa Review that compiled and analyzed salaries of African leaders to try and see the relationship between those in power and the governed.

The highest paid leader is Paul Biya who reportedly earns US$610,000 while the least paid is Sierra Leone’s President who earns US$12,000. President Museveni’s salary was put at US$15,000.

Watoto Wasoka – Football Made In Slums has organised the fourth edition of the  Watoto Wasoka Christmas Camp will take place from 28th December 2015 to 3rd January 2016.

The 5-day camp that expects a total 1600 participants will take place in Luwero where the teams will be accommodated at Luwero SSS while games will  be played at the Luwero Town Council grounds.

The participants/teams will be categorised in underage groups of Under-11, Under-13 and Under-15s for both boys and the girls. Last year the camp was held on same dates and registered 1452 kids from allover the country.

Watoto Wasoka – FOOTBALL MADE IN SLUMS, is a local NGO based in the heart of Kampala’s biggest slum Bakuli.

It’s a community – led youth development organization which uses soccer as a vehicle for positive change in the life of slum children in Uganda.

The organization aims to promote soccer-talented street and slum kids and tries to provide them with an alternative to street life for a better future perspective.
