Another tragedy has yet again hit the music industry. Singer Harriet Kisakye passed away this afternoon at Kampala International Hospital.
Kisaakye was battling a strange ailment, which started as a small tumor on her arm, and according to medics, later spread to affect a number of internal organs.
Kisakye died hours after she had been transferred from Mulago Referral Hospital with the help of the leadership of her known FDC party.
Former FDC President Col Kizza Besigye who promised to foot her medical bills, said the decision to have her transferred was taken following advice from medics that her situation was getting out of hand.
Reports indicated that by yesterday, her organs were beginning to crumble including her liver, kidneys and the lungs.
Kisakye now follows another prominent artist AK 47 of the Team No Sleep, who died after he was attacked at a night club in Kabalagala, in March.
Within the few months into 2015, the country has also lost three celebrated news readers, Bbale Francis, Dan Kyazze and Rosemary Nankabirwa, all to cancer.
Also the music industry saw the death of singer Coco Finger and Bobi Wine’s fathers.
Harriet Kisakye rose to fame in the early and mid 2000s with her hit songs Kinaigeria, Kandahar, Kimafia and several others.
She was also partly into politics and showed great support for her personal friend Dr Kzza Besigye during the 2011 general elections. There were also claims that she planned to contest for the Wakiso Woman MP Seat come 2016
