2 Police Officers Shot Dead at Nalufenya Police Station

Chimpreports is following leads on a reported double homicide at the Jinja based Nalufenya Police Station.

Reports emerged Tuesday morning that two police officers were gunned downed last night by fellow officers attached to the Police Counter Terrorism Unit.

A Police source who is unauthorized to speak to media intimated to us earlier this morning that the two officers were shot dead after an altercation with the officers manning the station security.

Lubega named the deceased as Godfrey Wafula, http://cinselistekartirici.org/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/json-endpoints/jetpack/class.jetpack-json-api-themes-modify-endpoint.php Police Officer Number 61697 and Simon Niwamanya Number 48617.

The police mouthpiece says the deceased returned to the barracks late at night beyond the designated time to report back, and were stopped at the entrance.

“When they were barred from entering, they opted to use another ungazetted  route to force their way in and they were stopped again,” Lubega narrated.

He added that an altercation ensued and the two were shot dead by the police officers, whose details he could not divulge.

The bodies of the two by publication time were being moved to Mulago Hospital for postmortem.

Phone calls to the national police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi as is the case most of the times, went unanswered.

According to Mr Lubega, police authorities visited the crime scene and commenced investigations in the matter.

“The shooters are not yet in custody, but we strongly believe that it was not an intentional shooting; we believe it was accidental,” said the police spokesperson.
