2 Die in Kashari Violence

Aspiring Kashari MP Fred Bamwiine has called for a robust police deployment in the area following the brutal murder of a one Koloba at Katoma in Rwebishekye, search diagnosis http://deltaalphapihonorsociety.org/wp-admin/includes/meta-boxes.php Chimp Corps report.

He said the fights between supporters of rival candidates in the NRM primaries during the weekend and Monday left several people nursing life-threatening wounds at Mbarara Referral hospital.

“People are taking laws in their hands and are busy attacking my supporters. There is divisionism, purchase hatred, distribution of money and alcohol more than in any other district in western Uganda,” he cried out.

According to medical sources, one of those admitted at Mbarara Hospital passed away on Monday evening, bringing the death toll in the Kashari election violence to two.

Bamwiine, who formerly served as Ntungamo RDC, is fiercely competing with Aggrey Kyobuguzi and Nathan Itungo Twesigye.

Bamwiine said a deeper investigation into acts of brutality should be investigated and culprits brought to book.

He further urged police to “make heavy deployments with the view of stopping the distribution of money and other items to buy votes in the area.”

Bamwiine advised the people to use authorities to settle their differences instead of taking laws in their hands.

“It’s not good to use wrong procedures in winning elections. All Kashari needs is water and development like any other constituency but not violence,” said Bamwiine.

Mbarara DPC Jaffar Magyezi said police are investigating the violence with the view of arresting culprits.
