UABF, Olympic Committee Wrangles Deepen

This is evidenced by the fact that boxing has been denied slots on the Ugandan team which will be participating in the youth games.

Reliable sources say the UOC executive has allocated positions to all games except boxing.

According to Fred Kavuma, the Assistant Publicity Secretary, the boxing committee had submitted the names of athletes immediately after the novices boxing championship.

However, UOC still insists the names were not sent on time, and therefore, denied them entry.

UOC has now issued a strong warning against the boxing commission’s indulgence with press saying, they are to take punitive action if reports on the matter continue to arise.

Boxing has also been allocated only five slots on the Olympic team yet it had very many medal prospects.

Out of the 44 medals Uganda has lifted in the Commonwealth Games, boxing has contributed 31.

The differences in the Ugandan sports administration stems from personalities who always deviate from the constitution.

ChimpSport is investigating the £100,000 which was sent by the International Olympic Committee and was allegedly diverted by certain sports administrators.
