Scores Perish At Congo Music Fête

The authorities have noted that several people were killed and property damaged in the crush which prompted the cancellation of the organised festival.

They have blamed the enthusiasm of the audience and have set up a security committee to carry on further investigations into the incident.

Emeneya who died at the age of 57 from heart problems last month, is believed to have introduced electronic instruments such as the synthesiser to Congolese music.
