Katwe Killings Shock Residents

The nasty accident occurred at Dream Land secondary school corner near Nyanja-Etagera in Bugaki sub county Kyenjojo district along the Fort Portal-Kyenjojo road.


It happened at around 8:00pm on Tuesday.


According to William Tusiime, an eye witness, the man from Rwaihamba died on spot, his passenger, Joseph Byabazire, survived with severe injuries.


Byabazire’s legs got broken while his head was seriously damaged.


He was rushed to Fort Portal Regional referral hospital in a critical condition where he was announced dead at around 2:00am on Wednesday.


The eyewitness attributes the cause of the accident to overspeeding.


Byabazaire had only one month to complete his Diploma in Public Administration and Management.

“We have not yet found out their true identities but it appears that, the deceased were attacked as they were coming from late night shifts at their work places,” Onyango said.


He adds that that particular place is a deadly spot especially past mid night and it is characterised by criminals who hail from Katwe Kinyoro and Busabala.


Onyango advised people who use the railway path in that area to always be cautious of thugs who stroll along the line waiting on to who to pounce on next.


He promised to hunt down those who committed the crime as investigations go on, meanwhile the bodies have been taken to Mulago national referral hospital, where police calls upon those having missing relatives to come and crosscheck.
