Through his lawyers led by Caleb Alaka and Abdul Katuntu petitioned the Supreme Court seeking for an interim order halting the one made by the court of appeal.
The court has, therefore, chosen a team of 5 judges led by Bart Katureebe to start hearing Lukwago’s petition on April 11.
Lukwago’s troubles stem from the KCCA tribunal set up by the minister of Kampala, Frank Tumwebaze, after complaints from city councillors over the Lord Mayor’s incompetence.
A tribunal led by Justice Catherine Bamugemereirwe convicted Lukwago on three counts; abuse of office, incompetence and general misconduct, before being impeached by councillors last year.
