President Bashir told press that together with President Kiir, they intend to find a solution to the rising insecurity in South Sudan.

“We are confident the ties between the two countries will be fully normalised and borders opened for the benefit of the two peoples,” Bashir was quoted as saying.

The last time Bashir visited Kiir in Juba was to discuss the seizure of Bentiu oil fields by the rebels.

The two suggested a Joint Oil Field Guard although it was no realised afterwards.

It should be remembered that the biggest link between the north and south is the oil and each would do anything to ensure it continues flowing.
