At least 657 people had earlier been arrested following the blast.

Interior Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Ole Lenku on Tuesday noted that a security operation has been launched in Eastleigh and will continue until the masterminds of the carnage are brought to book.

“This act of cowardice perpetrated against innocent and peace-loving Kenyans who were going about their normal activities is barbaric and immediate action has been taken by our security agencies,” Lenku noted in a statement.
