Uganda has fielded a team of 12 athletes where four are women.
The athletes include Ismail Katamba, Charles Sekyaya, Silvester Luyombya and Becky Namusoke who is the only female Ugandan athlete featuring in the women’s heavy weight lifting.

Seven countries are taking part in this championship with stiff competition anticipated in countries like Saudi Arabia Egypt and Libya.
The countries include, Saudi Arabia, Lybia, Egypt, Turkey, Somalia, Kenya, among others.
The championship is the first of its kind to be organised in Africa yet it’s the second to be organised in world.
