How the money was stolen
The trio arrived in Kabale on March 14, 2014, aboard a Jaguar bus from Kigali – Rwanda and they were picked from Jaguar bus offices in Kabale town by one Aron Mugisha of Safari 2 Gorilla Company which delivered them to KASA Programme which was their destination in Rwakaraba cell,
Northern Division in Kabale Municipality.
It is alleged that Mugisha was in the same vehicle with one Andrew Mutumba who also presented himself to the three tourists as a tour guide.
Mutumba became friendly with the tourists by helping them carry some luggage and assisting them buy some goods in Kabale Town.
It is reported that the next morning, Mutumba came back to hotel room checking on the tourists and at 13.00pm, the director of KASA Programme decided to take the tourists to town for lunch but Mutumba stayed behind.
A one Bright Mwesigye got concerned when he found Mutumba later checking the tourists’ luggage but the cunning driver claimed he was following the director’s orders.
On March 18, 2014 the tourists checked into their handbags for their emergency fund but couldn’t find anything.
They informed the guest house director, Kedrace Kanyesigye, who tried to find out what had happened and she was given information that Mutumba had been seen searching their room.
Kanyesigye reported the matter to police under file number CRB 879/2014 and a search for Mutumba commenced until in the night of March 22, 2014 when he was tracked down and arrested by Kabale
According to the Kigezi regional CID chief, Sulaiman Kabuye, police investigations into the matter are almost complete and suspect is to be arraigned before court where he will face theft charges.

Kampala Police Spokesperson, Ibin Ssenkumbi told Chimpreports that Turyatunga possessed a UPDF uniform which he has been using for several robberies across the country.
Turyatunga, 35 years, is a special driver at Kasubi who alleges that he got the uniform from one UPDF officer only identified as Baruku with whom they were to share the money after the deals.
The others like Benard Luhembo who is a charcoal seller in Kisenyi Mengo, had a gun with five fire ammunitions and he has been collaborating with Suleiman Kapeera to rob people on the highways.
Senkumbi further revealed that Turyatunga is the notorious thug who was recently involved in the highway robbery along Mityana road.
All along, police has been looking for him and it’s said that he was released from jail after he involved in several killings during the Rapid Response Unit period.
Tadeo Lubowa, another suspect, is a bar attendant in Wakiso district and used to get the locations where the group could rob using the guns.
So far, the four have involved in more than six robberies including robbing a city pastor who was only identified as Abbey.
At the moment, police has taken fresh investigations into this matter where exactly the suspects got the UPDF uniform and the SMG gun which was allegedly got from a security company.
Police said the four suspects will soon appear in courts of law to answer charges of murder, impersonation and aggravated robbery.
