The trio arrived in Kabale on March 14, 2014, aboard a Jaguar bus from Kigali – Rwanda and they were picked from Jaguar bus offices in Kabale town by one Aron Mugisha of Safari 2 Gorilla Company which delivered them to KASA Programme which was their destination in Rwakaraba cell,

It is alleged that Mugisha was in the same vehicle with one Andrew Mutumba who also presented himself to the three tourists as a tour guide.

Mutumba became friendly with the tourists by helping them carry some luggage and assisting them buy some goods in Kabale Town.

It is reported that the next morning, Mutumba came back to hotel room checking on the tourists and at 13.00pm, the director of KASA Programme decided to take the tourists to town for lunch but Mutumba stayed behind.

A one Bright Mwesigye got concerned when he found Mutumba later checking the tourists’ luggage but the cunning driver claimed he was following the director’s orders.

On March 18, 2014 the tourists checked into their handbags for their emergency fund but couldn’t find anything.

They informed the guest house director, Kedrace Kanyesigye, who tried to find out what had happened and she was given information that Mutumba had been seen searching their room.
