Kilembe Mines Development to Start Soon

The President and his guests discussed issues pertaining to the prospective economic plans of Kilembe Copper Mines with a view to transforming it so that it contributes to the development of the national economy.

Mr. Museveni urged partners of the Tibet Hima Mining Company to ensure quality work in the development of Kilembe mines.

Mr. Weiguo Li assured the President that the Company is committed to investing in the economic sector of Uganda in order to boost further the country’s development tempo.

He told the President that they have already started work at the mines adding that more equipment is being awaited to help in quickening the development of the mines.

Kilembe Mines had remained in limbo for decades until recently when Tibet Hima entered a partnership with government to develop the area.
