We have also learnt that the impeachment of the former chairman became an option after he refused to listen to the general assembly’s undivided calls to support the endorsement of the SPLM/SPLA (in opposition).

The now acting chapter leaders of the SPLM Nebraska Chapter, together with the SPLM general assembly officially endorsed the SPLM/SPLA (opposition) in support of the party reforms.

More than majority party Cabinet members conducted a vote of no confidence and unanimously voted out the former chairman and nominated the deputy Secretary General, Mr. Makuel Wie, as a party interim Chairman.

“President Salva Kiir utterly failed leadership style pushed the whole country and the historical SPLM/A party into abyss in all ten states of South Sudan including the Diasporas as well,” said the Acting Chairman, CDE Makuel Wie.

“Majority of the Diaspora in the United States are not happy with the way the President of the Republic of South Sudan leads the country.”

The SPLM chapters in all States and the SPLM secretariats in the United States have adopted differing views on the crisis but majority tacitly supported the SPLM reform in the country.

SPLM Nebraska Chapter impeached its chairman and endorsed the reforms.

This is not the first political group to throw its weight behind the now fighting South Sudan rebels as led by former deputy president, Dr Riek Machar.
