“The Coordinator of Kick Corruption out of Kigezi, Kakuru Robert Byamugusha, was also picked and detained,” added a source.

According to Moses Byamugisha, FDC member, ex-FDC President, Dr Kizza Besigye, is already in Kabale ahead of the organised free and fair election campaign.

“A security road block was put at Kabalaga (10km to Kabale town) to prevent Besigye from heading to Kabale,” Byamugisha notes, adding, “but they don’t know where he passed”.

The opposition free and fair election Kabale rally is expected to be attended by; Col. Dr Kizza Besigye, Gen Mugisha Muntu, Hon. Nobert Mao, Ambassador Olara Otunnu, Hon Miria Matembe, Fr.Gaetano Batanyenda and Bishop Zac Niringiye.

Meanwhile, the Kigezi Regional Police Commander, Olivia Rosemary Wawire, says police received a letter from the coordinator Byamugusha but it was too late to grant them their request.

“The police is calling off the platform of the planned rally on electoral reforms until further notice,” the RPC was quoted as saying.

“We are not going to entertain any form of their meeting until they come out with correct procedures,” Wawire emphasised.

In 2012, “For God and My Country” addressed a rally in Kabale which went out of hand and chaos ensued leading to the injuring of many people and smashing of police vehicles.
