However, following the case of mistreatment of athletes by a coach, the athletics federation has decided to bar coaches travelling with the team.

Brussels airlines have offered six return tickets to the athletes specifically for the Copenhagen marathon.


Meanwhile, the Buganda minister for Sports, Henry Ssekabembe, has called upon all personalities from clans and the Buganda counties to take part in the Kabaka’s birthday race which is slated to take place on April 6, starting from Kabaka’s Palace in Mengo.


The race which has been categorised into three phases of five, 10 and 21 one kilometres will be flagged off by the Kabaka himself and minister Ssekabembe.


The organising committee expects more than 20,000 people to take part.


This year’s race will feature under the theme “fight against Fistula”.


Registration is still going on at Bulange, Vision group offices and Airtel outlets at Shs 10,000 each.


According to minister Ssekabembe, by the end of Tuesday, more than 500 people had already registered for the race.
