His assistants on that day will remain match officials but in lower leagues,’’ explained Yusuf Awuye, one of the Referees’ Committee members.

The game was abandoned after Police FC coach Angelo Lonyesi calling his players off the pitch following the referee’s failure to acknowledge their 65th minute goal.

The Federation’s Competitions’ Committee ordered the game to be replayed but Masaka LC appealed.

Meanwhile, the Referees’ Committee also suspended Referee Ali Ssekimwanyi after officiating an unsanctioned game between China citizens in Uganda and those of Ireland.

This game was played in Namboole on Women’s Day and Ssemwanyi was the referee of the day.
